Basic I $45.00 Four Session(s)

This simple 4-patch design teaches the basics of rotary cutting and strip piecing. It looks great in juvenile prints for a child or from fabrics that give it a more sophisticated look. We will show you time-saving shortcuts, how to use the tools that quilters love, and teach you to layer, bind, and machine quilt.The first session will be devoted to discussing needed supplies and selecting your fabric.

Basic II $35.00 2 Session(s)

After Basic I, the next step is to learn to make half square triangles. There are two different sizes of triangles in this quilt and we will use Thangles™ to make is easy for you to piece. Choose juvenille prints and this will make a great baby quilt, or choose country colors and make a larger size to use as a throw on your sofa. Oh, the possibilities.

Two new techniques are taught in Basic III. One of the blocks uses cutting corners and the other has flying geese units. Learn some great new techniques that you will use over and over in future quilting projects.

Free Motion Quilting $20.00 one Session(s)

In this class you will learn to quilt with your sewing machine and finish all those quilt tops quickly and attractively. With all the new battings and threads available, machine quilting can be beautiful. All the basics will be discussed including setting up your work space, layering, batting, threads, and machine tension; followed by hands-on experience that includes texturizing and stippling.

Once in awhile a pattern comes along that we love so much we are willing to take the time to do hand applique. You will learn the different methods of hand applique and may select the method you enjoy the most to make a block that can be made into a pillow or be the beginning of a larger quilt.

Hand Embroidery Basics $20.00 One Session(s)

Have you been noticing all our samples that include hand embroidery? We have fallen in love with them and are having this class to teach you the basic stitches you need to know to make any of the projects. We will make a small sample in class that you can incorporate into a larger project or use to make a small pillow, pincushion or similar item.

Handi-Quilter 16 - Basic I $45.00 Two Session(s)

We are very fortunate to have Sue Krause, an experienced Handi Quilter 16 owner, teaching this workshop at The Quilt Corner for Handi Quilter 16 owners. She will be discussing methods for loading the quilt, choosing designs, using stencils, marking the quilt, using rulers, thread, and tension. The class will be limited to 6 students per session.

Wouldn’t it be great to get a head start making items for holiday decorating or gifts? Every two hours a new project will be taught. These 6 small projects would make great gifts for friends and family. Come join us for one or all six. A requirement sheet will be given out when you register for the class listing materials needed for each class. Invisible Machine Applique $25.00 One Session(s)

During this class we will explore the different methods of doing Invisible Machine Applique. The differences in the various methods are in the preparation of the appliques. After you decide on your favorite method, we will apply the appliques with invisible thread to give a hand appliqued look. Supplies included.

Log Cabin $20.00 one Session(s)

It is just hard to beat a good old log cabin quilt. The pictured quilt was made in red and green prints, but you can make yours to go with your decor. If you take this class you can make any size quilt you wish. Learn our technique for making accurate log cabin blocks. The pattern also includes instructions for making stockings and a tree skirt.

One Block Wonders $35.00 One Session(s)
Susan Adv. Beginner & Intermediate & Advanced
You will love this unusual method of designing and creating quilts. Instead of starting with a particular pattern or design and then trying to find fabric that will fit that pattern, this approach begins with the fabric. Kaleidoscope blocks, each one unique, are produced and then you begin to design your quilt.

Paper Piecing $30.00 One Session(s)

We have had many requests for paper piecing so Sue has decided on a pattern from Little Bits called Square on Square. You will be sewing on a tissue paper foundation. When completed the project is 22" square.

Promise Stitch $20.00 1 Session(s)

The pattern pictured features a simple group of squares. The log cabin block could also be made. The project is hand pieced using a stitch called the Promise Stich (Doublestitch). This craft, originating with the Appalachian Mountain people, is enjoying a revival. There are many colorful stories that accompany the history of the stitch and there are 3 promises taught when learning the stitch: Never use a machine to stitch Always sew the doubl stitch Share you knowledge and fabrics with others.

Stack 'n Whack - Advanced $35.00 One Session(s)

This class is an advanced Stack ‘n Whack project. You will make three different sized blocks to create a unique finished project. The class sample is a table topper, but extra blocks can be made to make a larger quilt.

Do you have projects that are unfinished? Are you stuck on how to finish a project and need a little advice? Do you just enjoy sewing when you are in a group and with friends? If you can answer yes to any of these questions, come join us for a day/evening of sewing. A staff member will be on hand if you need help with your projects. Class fee: $5 Friday - June 13th from 10 - 10 Saturday - June 28th from 10 - 4 Friday - July 11th from 10 - 10 Saturday - July 26th from 10 - 4 Friday - August 8th from 10 - 10 Advanced registration is required for these sewing days.

Strip piecing on a paper foundation makes this quilt easy and fun. The foundation prevents stretching on the bias edges and the variety of strip sizes means very little seam matching. All you need is lots and lots of dark and light scraps so raid your scrap basket or buy new. You can’t make a mistake with this quilt and it’s calorie free!!
